Natural Language Generation (NLG) is the ultimate machine-human interface; it converts raw data into coherent spoken or written language, e.g., in English. The NLG group at the Open University is a team of computational linguists, logicians, artificial intelligence engineers, and psychologists working together to develop leading-edge theories and technologies to generate language appropriate for the context and target audience, and delivering it in a manner that is clear, informative, easily understood, and even perhaps entertaining.
