This talk discusses enterprise architecture in general and The Open Group's architecture framework TOGAF in particular. It will look at the emerging profession associated with enterprise architecture, the motivation for performing enterprise architecture in industry and the increasing interest in obtaining professional qualifications. The talk concentrates on TOGAF version 8 but will also look ahead to the new TOGAF version 9 which is due to be released on Feb. 2nd.
Rachel Harrison is a Visiting Professor of Computer Science at the University of Reading, a Visiting Senior Research Fellow and Tutor at the Open University and Director of Stratton Edge Consulting. Formerly she was Professor of Computer Science and Head of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Reading. Her research interests centre on empirical software engineering and include software metrics, software evolution, requirements engineering and enterprise architecture. Rachel is currently Editor-in-Chief of the Software Quality Journal and is a member of the IEEE Computer Society, the ACM and the BCS.
