Making Research Visible – JLB2 Media Wall Competition -- for CRC and IET research students -- Cash prizes!

Location: JLB2 atrium

Entries are in two parts: i) A display of your own research ii) A display of the research of one academic (in the CRC for CRC students, in IET for IET students). Only one entrant per academic (on a first-come, first-served basis), which means that you need to confirm your choice of academic with Marian – and of course with the academic concerned. Judging will favour visually effective displays that convey a clear research message. The display should communicate ‘what you’re researching and what’s interesting about it to anyone who walks through the atrium. The judging panel will include both researchers and non-academics. For Mediawall information: https://computing-research.open.ac.uk/trac/mediawall-competition/wiki/Help Please login with username: “mediawall” and password: “creative”. Display entries are based on web pages. Web pages can be static or dynamic. You can create your web page using any tool you prefer, but you must avoid javascript. Your display must include the CRC logo, available at: http://mcs.open.ac.uk/TBT/logos/ Maximum display time: 60 seconds. Resolution: 1360 X 768 (Don’t forget to allow for the screen frames in your design.) There will be a chance to ‘test run’ your displays (or drafts or prototypes of them) on the media wall – a date will be announced in October. Entries will become part of the ongoing display library for the media wall. Winners will receive cash prizes and may be offered further paid media wall commissions.
